Isaac: Social Worker
I chose to study social work at the university and to come work for The Shepherd Center because I have a passion for children. I like extending help to those who may be in need, especially needy children.
Phillip: Social Worker
I really like working for The Shepherd Center for gaining experience in handling children and exercising my social work skills and imparting discipline in children. The Shepherd Center has helped me identify different instincts in children and express my feelings about a better future.
Martin: Center Guide
To me, The Shepherd Center is like home. I feel it was God’s call to do His work to help these young boys from the streets, and to see them grow into big men for a better Uganda. I like working at TSC because of the people who are committed to help these young boys, like those who fund the center and the Director.
It is my desire, and makes me feel good, to see the boys eating. I like to spend time with children while playing with them and preparing food for them.
As a Christian, I feel so sorry when I see children not given all that they need. To be here at The Shepherd Center, I take it as a good opportunity and a blessing form God and will use it to show children love through the meals I will be preparing for them.
Kevin: Animal Caregiver
Lisa: Administrative Support
I met Patrick in 2010, on my first trip to Uganda, and we have been friends since then. In 2013 I moved to Uganda to serve as missionary full-time. I was happy to join Patrick and the rest of the staff at The Shepherd Center in 2017.
After taking care of two vulnerable young boys in my own home, a concern and a passion has grown within me for other boys with no where to go. I love to see God’s redemption lived out in the lives of these boys with the work of His faithful servants working together to demonstrate His love.
