Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

The boys and the staff of The Shepherd Center want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Last weekend we were able to have a big Christmas celebration.  We had special meal for the staff, boys, and their guardians.  We ended the day with giving each boy two large bags packed full of gifts.

Each boys gifts included the following:

  • A pair of shoes
  • A pair of sandals
  • 2 pair of pants
  • 2 t-shirts
  • 2 button-down shirts
  • 1 sweatshirt
  • 2 pair of underwear (brought in October from one of our board members)
  • 2 pair of socks
  • 1 handkerchief
  • 1 undershirt
  • Soap (mainly for washing clothes)
  • Vaseline
  • A toothbrush and toothpaste
  • A little cash (amounting to about $1.35…a special treat for the boys)

May sponsors and other friends of TSC gave generous gifts towards this Christmas event.  We couldn’t have done it without you!  So, we send a VERY BIG THANK YOU to all of you who contributed!

Shopping for 50 boys, then organizing all the gifts was quite a task that took over two weeks to fully complete!

We have a little construction project going on at TSC. One of the workers stepped away from his work for a few minutes, picked up a Bible, and shared a message from God’s Word for all of us.

The boys and their guardians had some time of praise and worship, accompanied by a makeshift drum (a plastic container called a jerrican)

A friend from Germany send a package full of a little gift for each of the boys.

Here you can see several of the boys enjoying their special gift from Germany: a piece of candy, a pen, and a laminated picture of the painting we did together when she visited earlier this year.

  1. So wonderful to see the smiles on these boys and to know that they are loved by the TSC staff and sponsors and friends from the United States. So grateful for everyone’s participation.
